We are four siblings who grew up in semi-rural southeast Michigan and have all since moved, therefore we’re now all living in different cities. Growing up we were close-ish as siblings are, with fun and fights all included, but getting older and not being in each other’s pockets all the time made us grow closer and actually want to talk to each other. (Funny how that works!) And our lives are such that we needed to schedule a time to talk, and scheduling time just to talk seems weird, so we decided to do what every millennial does—start a podcast together!

Kathryn, The Encyclopedia
Katy is the oldest and does seem to know a little bit about a lot of things. Sometimes she is right, and sometimes she is wrong, but what is most important is everything is said with confidence and educated guesswork. She has a bachelor’s in theater design & production and a master’s in museum studies, both of which she does not use at her current job. But hey! She’s fun at a gathering if you want to learn about the latest thing she heard on a podcast/read in some article/scrolled by on Twitter. She has been to over 250 museums, natural sites, and tourist attractions, and is musing on creating a retrospective blog about that, in addition to her blog about living in London for a year here. She also likes to watch YouTube cooking and drag queen channels, read four books at a time (therefore taking forever to actually finish them), scroll through Tumblr, sing along to music in her car, and rewatch Poirot and Marple while drinking accidentally lukewarm PG Tips.
Carolyn, The Bookworm
Carrie is absolutely a Bookworm and has an expensive graduate degree to prove it. Since she was a wee child she has been known to have her nose in a book, including Trixie Belden, Nancy Drew, and those intrepid Boxcar Children. Around Christmas when she was twelve, she got a fancy leather collectors edition of The Lord of the Rings and carried it around like a comfort blanket. (True story). She still has mountains of books in her tiny room in Boston and is only vaguely afraid of being buried by them. She has a bachelor’s in psychology and a master’s in publishing and is endeavouring to use them in a new career path. She loves loves loves dogs and will regularly stop and ask to pet them in the wild (and also virtually—when she plays RDR2 Arthur always pets the dogs). She also loves a good beer, cross-stitching fun stuff for her friends, and getting righteously mad listening to Crooked Media.
Madelyn, The Wildcard
Maddy is indeed a wildcard and has been since she was a little girl crawling around pretending to be Simba. From playing Ultimate Frisbee and Quidditch to working as a nurse, she was never quite sure what was going to happen next, only that it would be an adventure. She has a bachelor’s in nursing and has seen more old butts than the rest of us combined. She is well traveled internationally, having spent time in Spain, England, Scotland, the Bahamas, and Costa Rica, and lived in both Ireland and Argentina for a month respectively. She’s also walked from Mexico to Canada—the whole way (give or take a hitch or two)! She blogged about the experience hiking the Pacific Crest Trail here. When she’s not outside enjoying nature she likes to experiment in the kitchen (latest tests are kombucha brewing), read a lot, and watch old Vines.
Mackenzie, The Eclectic
Mack is certainly an eclectic person with an eye for detail that has astounded everyone else. A childhood spent loving dinosaurs, pirates, and comic strips created an adult who loves storytelling, building things, and being with close friends. He has a bachelor’s degree in industrial design, which was a natural fit after building complete pirate ships out of popsicle sticks and drawing CONSTANTLY. Like, CONSTANTLY. He still likes to draw and does a song-inspired notecard series every year. He works a lot at his current job assembling cabinets, but in his spare time he likes to experiment with cocktail mixing, make costumes for cosplaying, design D&D campaigns, and go on adventures with his friends.
